Back to Blogging

Wow, can't believe it has been almost 2 years but I am going to try and be back. Life is so busy and with emails, phone & facebook I wasn't sure I had time for this ever again. When I just went back and read some of my older posts I saw all the simple things that I posted that I would never have remembered if I hadn't blogged it so here we go again. Jocelyn is in 1st grade this year and Ashley in 3rd. They are growing up so quickly it makes me sad sometimes. We had a great summer with being at the cottage and spending time with friends and family. My mom came home for 2 weeks and we had an absolute blast. Miss her much and can't wait for the day she moves back home. So many pictures to share but that will have to wait until next week.

Proverbs 17:17

We were sitting at the dinner table last night eating and having a family conversation. For some reason it turned into Jocelyn talking about how she "doesn't like her daddy". Imagine our surprise at those words out of her mouth. Brian and I were looking at each other trying to figure out how to proceed when out of Ashley mouth comes....."Proverbs 17:17 says that A friend loves at all times, so that means even when they are rude to you, you have to still love them." What a perfect explanation to Jocelyn about why she shouldn't talk like that, and a very proud moment for us as parents.

Welcome Home Daddy!

Brian has been gone for almost a week hunting Pheasants in South Dakota. Last night before he came home the girls drew him some pictures and hung them on the door so he could see them 1st thing when he got home at 4am.

Busy Weekend

I thought this was funny because I can't imagine seeding a lawn like this

We had a great time trick or treating with the girls. Jocelyn dressed up as a Lion and Ashley was a chef. We went to get candy with Jason, Michelle and their kids. They ended up with way too much candy as usual.

Jesse and Aiste had a party at their new house. It was a lot of fun and my husband lost all his money playing cards. Their new house is awesome and very nicely done.

Saturday took me up to Walkerville for my Grandpa's surprise 80th birthday party. He was definetely surprised to see us all there. I got to visit with family which was good because most of them I haven't seen in a long time.

Saturday we ended up at Ed & Erica's for an awesome party. Erica and Melissa did an awesome job at decorating. Everyone brought a dish that was halloween themed. I ended up bringing bone breadsticks with brain dip. Someone made these little edible mice that I had a hard time eating at all, and I could not eat the Pretzel rods with Snot. They just looked too gross. Brian and I won the Euchre tournament and took home $30 which paid for the babysitter so we weren't complaining.

Brian left early this morning for South Dakota to go pheasant hunting. I was incredibly proud of Ashley today when she prayed for Daddy's safe hunting trip before dinner.

Happy Birthday Jocelyn!

5 years old today!

Jocelyn is growing up so fast. She was so excited to open her gifts. She got a new bedspread and matching stuff to go with it. She also got a bike helmet and toy computer. We went outside and she got on her bike and did great without the training wheels. As long as she thought I was hanging on everything was good.

Brian is coming home early to surprise her and we are going out to her favorite restaurant Russ's to eat. I'm excited to spend some much needed time together.

Congratulations to my girlfriend Sarah on the birth of her baby boy, Victor, 8lb 13oz. (ouch!) yesterday.

Starting....to try

Ok...so I am going back and forth. How many places am I going to make a presence. I have myspace, facebook and now a blog. There are too many to take care of. Will have to think about that.

My littlest is turning 5 on Wednesday. I am not really sure how I feel about it. It is exciting that the kids are growing up, but there gets to be a point when you realize they are never going to be little again and that is where I am at. I spent the first years dying for them to grow up, and now I am going to spend the next 15 wishing they wouldn't grow up. It is awesome to see the kids grow and how much they learn and take in. It amazes me the things that Ashley is learning in school so quickly. Before I blink they are going to be gone so I am trying to enjoy it for now.

Brian is gone working up North again. It gets incredibly boring with him not around so the girls and I have to come up with some creative things to do by ourselves. We get to do the fun girl things, etc.

I found out last week that my mom is not coming home for Christmas and I am truly bummed about it. It is frustrating to have her so far away.

That's good for now!
